Hey sears TV guy & irishrulze - Mits vs Sam - Reliability?

Jan 25, 2005 3:45AM PST

Thanks to you two for helping me make my decision. I am leaning toward the 52525 mainly because I hate the look of the pedastal since I have a receiver, DVD/CD player, and yes, believe it or not, a turntable and cassette player that I still use on occassion. Almost every review I read about the Samsungs is that there are so many problems. I know these are covered by warranty, but what a pain to have something happen right before the Super Bowl or NCAA Finals. Which of the brands is more reliable?

I have had about the same with reliability with both tv's. Mostly just replacing the fans but other than that nothing other than replacing the occasional lamp. I have yet to have anyone have any trouble what so ever though with the pedestal. But if the pedestal design isn't gonna work for you then the mitsu is a great tv with almost as good of a picture and a ton of features.

Hey sears TV guy & irishrulze - Mits vs Sam - Reliability?

Both actually are pretty reliable, that being said, I have had less rainbow on the Mits, I think it is due to a true 7 segment color wheel. The one thing that bothers me about the Samsung is for the price it is at, it is still just a monitor. Thus, I think the Mits's are a better value.
