General discussion

Hey Kees. . .

Jul 27, 2006 9:23AM PDT

Reference your locking the question "I Need a Good Hard Drive Recovery Software". I'm a little concerned on your answer. Several times I have cross-posted to get a bigger audience. Such as a Hard drive question posted in Desktops and another in Hardware. If you are going to lock a question just because it's asked in two different forums, I will have to complain to a higher up.

I can totally understand spamming or mass posting, but I think you have stepped a little overboard. A lot of times an answer is not available in one forum, and cross posting will provide an answer or at least a larger audience. Some people only visit one or two forums (unlike me, I visit about 15) and a resolution may not be found in only one forum.

Can I ask for your indulgence on this?

Thanks,

Wayne

Wayne,

It's discutable, indeed. With problems, it really makes sense to have the discussion on one place: the more info the easier to solve it, and with two 'half' discussions the clue might be hidden.
But when it's just asking for information, that doesn't really apply.

Thanks for your comment. I'll unlock the thread again, and just post a link to the other one.

Kees
