General discussion

Hey Josh, how are those Yankees working for you?

May 29, 2007 8:22PM PDT

21-29, 14 1/2 games behind and tied for 11th in the AL. Devil

The offense is erratic, the starting pitching bad, the bullpen worse (is Mariano Rivera finally starting to break down?) and no one has a clue about what to do. Methinks Roger Clemens ought to send back any money Georgie Porgie's sent him; he won't help. At least, since he doesn't have to travel with the club, he won't have to continually endure the agony...

So, when does Torre, or Brian Cashman, or both get canned? My guess is that Torre doesn't make it through June. And when will King George sell the team to someone who gives a damn? It's pretty clear that he doesn't any more.

There is no way on earth Clemens is worth the money they are paying and I hope he blows his first three starts

Awful, just bloody awful. The brunt of the blame has to go to Steinbrenner with Cashman a close second. Think of the money this man has tossed out the window. Pavano, Kevin Brown and Igawa alone come to over $100 million. It's mind-boggling to me that this man still has a job. Torre seems unable to motivate the team. It's not his fault the bullpen is awful but it is his fault that he keeps using the same two guys every day. I do think Mariano is starting to show his age. That makes me sad. Love the Yankees or hate them, you have to respect and appreciate Mariano Rivera.

I expect a lot of changes after this season if not sooner.

Could be worse, Josh -- you could be a DisAstros fan!

The boys are closing in on club record you don't want to set -- their 10-game losing streak is only one away even as we speak. Of course, both of them are ahead of the truly pathetic Rangers, your other "natural" option!
