Why do this?

I've seen folk dump dollars into old gear and gain so little.

Why do this?

Answer
How I find out.
Apr 17, 2018 8:10AM PDT

1. https://www.google.com/search?q=dh55hc
2. The second link is the downloads for the board.
3. Intel shows the latest is Version: 0048 (Latest) Date: 12/6/2011

Hope this helps you know how to find this. As to how to update, I never tell how. I always follow the maker's instructions and NEVER remove power on update. I have never lost a board in over two decades.

Did you use the motherboard manual to find out how?

I think you are trying to avoid the usual work here. Remember, as a rule I never write how to update a BIOS outside of "use the maker's instructions."

Also, you didn't reveal why you want to do this. That is, I do advise getting the BIOS up to date when you can. But if your current CPU is say 2.0GHz and the new is 2.2GHz it won't give you more than 1 frame per second payback. Let's hear what the old CPU is here so we can guess what increase you may get.

Sounds slower.

If you had shared the old model I could compare it to the xeon 3460. The 3460 looks to be on the compatible list but I'd check out comparisons to see if the old Xeon is better.

Well , my current cpu is core i5 650

Current cpu id i5 650 and i do a comparison between those the i5 659 and the xeon and its really big difference between the two , well probably its better than the i5 659

Your running stuff that can take advantage of the extra threads.

Only you know if that's the case.
