Here's a story about a Chinese whistleblower.

He was a doctor in Wuhan, in the epicenter of the outbreak. He did the medically correct thing and notified his fellow MD's of the seriousness of the situation, in a timely manner. Soon the police took him into custody for "making false comments" that had "severely disturbed the social order". The comments were of course true, as the government knew by then. The only social order disturbed by them was the group at the head of government.

Ibsen wrote a play with an eerily similar plot; can't remember the title.

Anyway, that was repressive China and gloomy Norway. Can't happen here.
