Microsoft doesn't supply "drivers."

Many are unaware they need to find and install drivers for the entire machine. Here's the short list:

- Motherboard.
- Video.
- Audio.
- Modem.
- Network card.
- Printer.
- What else?

support an update.

you are not clear as to whether you have used the upgrade disc or simply installed XP over your Win 98.

if it is the latter suggest you remove it in either add/ remove programs or via MSCONGIG where you can cause your Win 98 to revert to some date prior to the XP installation .

Then test for compatibility with the program and above all post EXACT information here if you want further help.

You now get to find and install the drivers for the hardware.

Microsoft does not do this for us.

A new computer (in your case) will likely not have the OS installed since you paid for XP (home or pro) which was one or two hundred bucks.

You'll still get to learn this (cheap) lesson about drivers.
