Here we go again !!

A cop involved shooting of "young" lad at the very epicenter of all the trouble in Baltimore (jct of North and Pennsylvania)..........unknown condition, but reporter says "he looked very bad".

Lad was supposed to be running away at the time. Get your hard hats on, lock and load, get the popcorn ready !!
Live on Fox News......happened 11 minutes ago and witnessed by Fox reporter.

Facts

That Fox producer/reporter saw the cop chasing down the man/kid, heard one shot, and the kid was on the ground face down. The assumption, since he was in a car with the windows rolled up, was that the cop had shot the kid.

Turns out, the 'kid' had a six shooter that fell out of his waistband, hit the ground and went off on its own....he immediately laid down on the sidewalk and was arrested. The cop was seen giving him 'aid' (checking to make sure he was ok and didn't need help), called for an ambulance, and he was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.

Nobody was shot....and that information took less than twenty minutes to get to the public via FoxNews and to the people on the street who were already gathering in large numbers.

Disaster averted.........kid has been charged.

especially when you compare it to how long it takes to get CBS and NBC to admit when their news anchors have created entire stories out of thin air having not even a mistaken basis on which to claim it happened. Dan Rather and Connie Chung for CBS, Brian Williams and Peter Arnett for NBC. Arnett is also guilty of giving aid and comfort to the enemy (Iran). Once you see video and how everyone who was there at the shooting, particularly one young woman, were claiming the young black man was shot by the police, and how the man just lay there with a near riot going on around him, mace or pepper spray going off, you can see why for about half hour there was some confusion on what happened.

for correcting their mistake?

Do they get a "black mark" for jumping to conclusions?

Never mind how long it takes for the other guy to do something.

Does 'Divert and Deflect" apply in THIS situation?

The "other guy defense"?

Does the girl

and deliberately inciting to riot by telling everyone to use social media so everyone could show up there.

Assumption
May 4, 2015 9:43PM PDT

at the time Tobin saw it was that when the shot was heard the kid dropped face down onto the sidewalk and believed that the cop had shot him....the cop was in the middle of the street when the shot was heard by Tobin.

However, there was also at that time before the police chief notified Fox via phone that nobody had been shot, a woman being live interviewed who also 'witnessed' the event.....and even she said that she saw the cop shoot him, and when told there was a gun on the ground, she said she believes the cops planted the gun and that they would lie to cover their butts.

Neither story being told was factual.

The ONLY reason Fox News was the only outlet reporting anything was because Fox's Tobin was the ONLY media still there. He was in his van getting ready to go on the air live and to report that all was still calm and that cops' presence had been next to nothing at that time. I'm sure that if any other media outlet was there, the reporting would have been live and just as inaccurate.

and admit THEY were wrong....Did you watch the video?

What's your problem with admitting THEY were wrong?

The person that saw a shooting that didn't occur believes the police planted the gun?

OK, fine.

Yes. Fox immediately admitted they were wrong
May 4, 2015 10:49PM PDT

All of this was taking place live, JP.....Tobin reported what he believed had happened right in front of him, and the girl reported live what SHE believed had happened. Within minutes, the police chief notified FoxNews that there was nobody shot....and went into the streets immediately as well to let the people who were gathering know that nobody was shot....and Fox was live covering it all as it unfolded.

As for the girl, she stated that the kid was on a 'stoop' talking with some friends as the cop approached and took off running across the street with the cop chasing him. She said that she heard a shot (the same shot that Tobin heard) and saw the kid fall to the ground. She believed that the cop had shot him....then when the reporter (Vitters, I believe, from Fox) told her a gun was found on the sidewalk by the kid, she said she couldn't believe anything the cops say, they probably planted the gun, and would lie to cover themselves. SHE believed she SAW a shooting. Just as Tobin believed HE saw a shooting.

How do you get from "Facts" as I presented them to my not admitting they were wrong? I explained the events in the order they happened. How you make your 'leaps' is amazing to me. Two 'eye witnesses' to an event and BOTH had it wrong. ONE admitted to having the facts wrong because he didn't actually SEE the shooting, he only HEARD the shot and saw the guy hit the deck...the girl did NOT.

The girl did NOT what? Didn't change her story? So that makes her story true and NOW FOX News is lying?

She didn't "see a shooting" either. She "heard a gunshot"....she assumed someone was shot.

She STILL says he was "shot"?

I had Fox on at the time ALL
May 4, 2015 11:32PM PDT

of this was going on, JP. I saw and heard the girl's accounting and she was adamant that the cop shot that kid. SHE claimed she SAW it happen. TOBIN repeatedly stated that HE didn't SEE the shooting....he only heard the gunshot and when the kid went down assumed the cop shot him.

What are you freaking raving about?

From beginning to end when the police chief came out and told everyone on the live air that there was NO shooting, Fox was covering it all because no other media was there yet. And it all unfolded in real time within twenty minutes or so from start to finish.

The girl never came back on air, that I saw during the next few hours, to admit she was wrong. Fox admitted it almost immediately because once it was reported by Tobin and the ambulance was taking the kid away, they were reporting that the police chief was correcting the story to no shooting occurred, and that the shot was fired from the KID'S gun as it hit the pavement.

If you are going to continue to babble nonsense, I'm done.

May 5, 2015 2:37AM PDT

take Dan Rather and Brian Williams to admit they were wrong? At least the appearance to the FOX reporter looked like what happened, he wasn't fabricating it, and soon as was discovered, he corrected it.

How would anyone...news reporter or otherwise...know what just transpired. Look like most of the crowd gathered had the police figured wrong. It's really fortunate that some angry spectator didn't pull a gun and really hurt someone.

No mistaking "what"?

From what I watched (about the first 30 seconds of the link you provided)...it looked like the so called "shooting" was already over. just a bunch of people shouting.

Exactly what are you pointing out in the video?

Freedom of Speech?
