General discussion

Here's a strange one

Jun 20, 2011 5:16AM PDT

I'm finding that if I begin to reply to a post but decide to cancel it, the next attempt to reply, and even to a different post, contains the text of my previously cancelled post with an empty subject line. I can reproduce this quite easily. Using Win 7 Pro and FF 4.01, BTW.

Me too, and it was noted a while ago

somewhere, but I can't remember where now.

Yep, the text of the cancelled post reappears.

I though a bug had been filed for it, and perhaps they are still looking in to it.

You *could* make Lee's day
Jun 21, 2011 5:11AM PDT

or you could simply spoil it. Up to you, Devil

Have a look at Lee's sticky post here;
http://forums.cnet.com/7723-7598_102-525956.html

He has just edited it to tell us what bugs have been fixed, eg;

"Reply message body text after submission is being copied into every subsequent reply form on the page Fixed".

Over to you...

Nope...sorry...that didn't work

Typing yada, yada, yada

Next step will be to preview, after that will cancel, and after that will hit reply again and see what happens.

I'm not talking about after submitting a post but if I cancel it. If I cancel the post and try again to add a reply message, the body of the text remains but the title is gone. I've since learned that, if I resubmit with that same text still in place, it doesn't get posted. What I also see is that text appears again if I try to reply to another person's post. It shows in the message body but apparently doesn't get sent. Of course I don't want it to appear or get sent anyway

test test was this bug reintroduced again?

This is a entirely different bug than the previous
Jun 22, 2011 7:29AM PDT

This is were the body of text is being saved after it is been the post has been cancelled, so the form is not clearing out after it is cancelled.

Ill file a bug for this. It's a low priority one, but it will get addressed.

Thanks for reporting it Steven.

Cheers!
