Help with wireless networking please ANYONE!

I have two pcs, both with windows xp SP2 on them. I have a Thomson Speedtouch wireless router/modem, and a Thomson speedtouch 121g wireless adapter. The downstairs pc is connected to the internet through the Speedtouch router/modem. I have called the wireless network "yubi1234" and gave it a password. I installed the wireless adapter in the upstairs pc and connected to the "yubi1234" with no problem. However i cannot connect to the internet. It says that it cant recieve the IP address, and comes up with a little pop up bubble saying "there is little or no connectivity" i click the button and it offers to repair. so i click repair and it says retreiving Network IP... and then it says it failed. I am connected to the network but not the internet. Can anyone help me?

Did you enable your router DHCP..

and configured your pc with automatic IP..?
