help with wireless connection

by JMOWMOW / February 29, 2008 11:03 PM PST

need some advice here. desktop downstairs gets no unsecured wireless locations. upstairs i can get 2 available but too weak to use. i know others have made connections work w/ antenna and matbe a repeater but i do not know what to choose. i have a wireless pickup plugged into a usb port now and would like to use it to pick up from a repeater/bridge/amplifier. what would be a good set up? yagi/cantenna/hawking and what would it need to connect to so the signal could be sent out to my computer. any suggestions would be helpful. and yes i know $20 gets you going w/ ma bell--but that would be no fun. thanks in advance
