Help with windows xp

by nexgeneration / July 8, 2009 9:49 PM PDT

i have a hp pavilion and it runs on a windows xp system... my uncle f**** it up with all viruses (you know where...) and it didnt come with NO recovery disk. so i downloaded an .iso of windows xp and when i load everything up, the only thing i get on the desktop is the recycling bin. When i try to access the internet all it says is something about no internet connections. i refreshed it and it still says the same thing. I dont know if it works in safe mode... I have it wired up to DSL and its suppose to work cause i have it running to a different computer as well but with windows vista. so is there anything i can do to get the internet connection? Please help!!!!

Contact HP and they will send you a recovery disc. Out of curiosity where did you get the .iso from?

The disk will have all the right drivers.

But if you don't want to wait... right click on my computer and click Manage. See any yellow triangles with exclamation points? Those are pieces of hardware for which drivers that aren't installed. Sound card's probably one of them. Find out what kind of hardware you have in the machine and hunt down each driver individually. Or get the restore disk. Grin
