help with what kind of printer I need

Feb 20, 2010 10:44AM PST

We don't print very often, sometimes several months between print jobs. I am tired of buying new ink everytime I need to print or a new printer because of the length of time between print jobs. I would like to have a 3-1 but it is not necessary. What I want is to know if there is such a thing as a printer that you can go months between using. I have a Dell Window Vista OS Laptop and a Gateway Window XP PC. It would be nice if I could get a wireless printer but my main focus is a printer that can be dormant for awhile. If anyone could tell me what kind of printer can do that I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Nozzle Check
Feb 20, 2010 11:30AM PST

I run a nozzle check on my Epson Stylus Photo R340 printer every morning when I turn on my desktop computer unless I have done a color print job the day before. The eight checks per sheet give me just the right amount of scratch paper.

It is kind of a pain but it has worked for years with ink cartridges refilled by Cartridge World.
