Monitor has a higher native resolution.

The monitor itself has a native resolution of 1920x1200, so as a result, unless you stretch the picture, you're going to have bars on that unit. Regardless of the connection (PC, HDMI, Component), that will still end up the same.

The problem.
Dec 16, 2008 12:50PM PST

The problem is when the Xbox is set to 1920 x 1080p, the monitor only thinks it is outputing at 1680 x 1050 and part of the screen gets cut off. The monitor supposed to show black bars but it doesn't.

hey, you can go through hdmi with 1st gen. xbox 360!!
Jan 3, 2009 2:08PM PST

There is a converter kit from mad kats. it is on amazon.com search "xbox 360 hdmi conversion kit" or just "hdmi conversion kit". it's 80$ but as far as I know it is the only way to get the 1st gen. xbox 360 hooked up through hdmi to get full 1080p picture....besides one other I have seen on youtube called "XCM hdmi converter box". hope this helps. p.s. try and spred this around. alot of people do not know about these products and the fact that you CAN actually get full 1080p via hdmi (conversion of course) through 1st gen. xbox 360. hope this helps please reply back.
