The USB fell back to USB 1.x speeds. If this was mine I'd swap out the USB cable (sometimes they give you the old USB 1.x cable) and recheck all my drivers.
I also plug into the rear USB ports and not a hub.

Anyone tell me why my new replacement external drive is so slow? It's a Seagate Model #ST3320620A. This 320gig drive is replacing a 200gig Seagate that was just getting too small. This is a backup drive only in a EzgigII enclosure which worked fine with the smaller drive. Just to give you an idea of how slow I'm talkin'. Last Sat. night I started Chkdsk on this drive and I just canceled it a few minutes ago at half completed. I'm running Win. XP Pro Sp2 on a P4 3.2gig homebuilt with 2 gigs of ram. What the heck is going on?
Thanks
