You might just need to dis-able the HDMI control feature, it would be in your DVD player stettings menu and perhaps also in the receiver setting for the Blu-Ray HDMI input. HDMI control allows it to do things like auto turn on your tv when you turn on your blue-ray, or auto-select the blue-ray input on the receiver when the blue-ray is turned on or when the blu-ray input is selected on the receiver it tells the blue-ray play to turn on and so on. It is supposed to make things simple and smarter, I think it makes thing confusing more often than not and usually disable it.
As for sound from your TV through the receiver, I don't know your unit but on mine I needed to run and output from from TV to the receiver, so I have a fiber (TosLink) audio out from my TV to the receiver, when I pick TV on the receiver it plays the sound from the TV through my surround.
Hope this helps...
I have a samsung LN46B650, samsung HT-BD1250 home theatre with blue ray disk player. So I hooked everything up. The surround system works with the blue ray player but once I switch it to TV, it stops working and the blue ray player shuts off. How can I fix this problem, ie getting the speakers work for TV? Thanks in advance.
