the player will list any song as "unknown" if it does not have any info in the ID3 tag.
You have several options:
From the "now playing" window in wmp10 you can choose "Find Album Infi" and wmp10 will try and find the info for the song online (if you are connected). If it doesn't find anything or it does not present the correct option you can choose "refine search" and fill in as best you can the correct info then search again. Note that the "Find Album Info" will only be an option if you have added the song to the wmp10 library (under "File" and "Add to Library" from top menu).
If that doesn't work....
You can right-click the song from the "now playing" list in wmp10 and choose "advanced tag editor" and manually fill in artist/album/song info.
Another option is to go to "My Computer" and open the Z5 "drive". You can make folders with the name of the artist and drop them to the Z5. Any folder name will show up as an "Artist" on the Z5 menu.
Note: if you are ripping cd's to add to the Z5 be sure you are online. wmp10 will try and find the album info and add the tags automatically.
Hi all,
Since this uses windows media player is there anyway to make the player not show "unknown" when the album listing is not present.
At the mo on the player if the album is unknown you click 'unknown' and it shows a big list of all the song which have an album as unknown. Can't it just only show 'all' which includes the 'unknown' album but only the songs from THAT artist which you have selected? Confusing huh =)
Thanks all. Even if you cannot do the above, can you make WMP fill in the album info automatically. I know you can right click a song and click find album info but you have to do this manually, can it be done automatically?
