I make my own.
Vista started the new trend of 'Public' folders and Junction Points In Windows.
Public folders like Documents, Music, Videos, etc, where any user can see them.
Junction Points are virtual folders. They don't really exist as folders but are navigation links to other folders. For example, in Vista the "My Documents" family of folders no longer exist, and have been replaced by Documents, Music, Photos, Videos folders. But because so much software was geared to install files into My Documents and other folders in previous versions of Windows, like XP, Vista included Junction Points with the recognisable names to point to the newer folders.
So, if your problem is related to attempting to rename folders in these Junction Point folders, that will fail because they don't exist.
In my case I rarely used the Windows options for personal folders, and always created my own. In my Vista for instance, I created a folder called Personal on the C Drive, and inside that I created sub-folders for Documents, Music, Photos, Videos, and others that I use.
I can't say about changing the name of the Computer. Although it would be nice to change it, I would ask if it is rally necessary.

Question is regarding Vista Home Basic, V 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002, factory installed on a Toshiba Satellite L355. So far, I hate Vista! I don't know why, but when I got this computer from my son, I began being unable to rename folders or files. I have tried everything I can think of. I am only user, running as admin, so maybe when I switched, I did something? I tried to rename computer/ID to Cindy instead of my son's weird name (solo). I am flying blind. I'm not an expert, but not a rank newbie either, although I know nothing about Vista. Help! I need to be able to move, rename and get organized!
