There is no firmware for that model ever released, as far as I know. Some parts are available on samsungparts.com, but not everything is listed. You might call then at 800-627-4368 to see if they have that part available. Otherwise, some of your local service centers may be able to assist in getting that part. The service center you took it to should certainly have that information as well.
I have a LNS-4096 LCD that is "breaking up" on all sources - it looks like the image is being blended up and distorted. This happens usually when the TV has been off for a while and will go away if I turn the TV on and off frequently but will usually come back. I took it into a local authorized Samsung service location "TV is out of warranty" and I was told it was the T-con board that needed to be replaced. I work at a high end AV dealer and have sold Samsung for years - I am quite familiar with component level service as well - so I have purchased the Samsung service manual for this TV. I can not seem to find a part number description of the "T-Con" board on the parts list however - Can anyone provide me the part number the service department needs? - Also, I did some research and found that the T-Con board may be a consistant issue on some of these panels and that a firmware update may fix - see: http://forums.cnet.com/5208-13973_102-0.html?messageID=3020041&tag=forums06;posts#3020041
Is there a recent firmware anyone is aware of that I could try for this model TV?
