Bad idea (re antivirus).

It's rare to get hit with an old virus since the antivirus tend to reduce the spread. The new plague of spyware, trojan, virus or worm will sadly find your machine quickly.

With free antivirus such as Avast, AVG and others, you have no excuse to go without.

Quadmd, Copy/Paste..

Are you able to copy/cut/paste by using the mouse? (highlight the text, RIGHT click on highlighted text, choose "copy" from the menu, then RIGHT click on blank area of the new document, choose "Paste".

If that works, then it's possible the keyboard is having issues. Try swapping in a new keyboard and see if it works.

By the way, I agree completely with Bob's statement about antivirus....ALWAYS have a current and up to date antivirus program. If you don't want to renew Norton, find another that you like. Free ones are avaiable. Here are links to just a couple:

AVG

Avast

Hope this helps.
