Help with my HIDs

Jul 20, 2007 2:37PM PDT

I recently bought an HID kit. It has two bulbs. When I installed it on my 2002 Mustang GT and turned them on, only the bulb that is not HID went on. But when I switched my lights to High Beam, then the HIDs went on. I asked a friend and he said that the cables were inverted. My HIDs have one black cable, one red cable and two yellow cables. They told me to switch the yellow cables but when I did, nothing happened. CAn anyone tell me what to do and how to do it. Thank You. I want my HIDs to turn on with low beams.

maybe you put the HID on a wrong place.

I think the two yellow cables are not the control cable.you may connect the HID to the high beam ,so you need exchange the palce of your former light and HID.
Hope you can solve your question.

this is actually pretty easy to solve

so what's happened, i believe, is you're working with either a h4 (h4=9003) or 9007. your car has bi-xenons equipped. here's the big difference, you've probably got a three port female harness -- you've got to put the ground in the "top" position, and then the positive in either the left or the right position to trigger the low beams.

so you can look at the never burn out company for instance -- you've got bi-xenons and single xenon beams in the SAME bulb type. why? because of exactly what you're experiencing. some people don't go with high beams on their bixenon configurations. take a look:

h4 SINGLE ONLY (maybe what you're working with)

http://www.neverburnout.com/HID-Xenon-Conversion-Kit-H4-p/kit-h4.htm

h4 bi-xenon (this will come with a three prong insert because it works with both your low beams and high beams.

http://www.neverburnout.com/HID-Xenon-Conversion-Kit-H4-BiXenon-p/kit-h4-bixenon.htm

anyways, long story short, you've got different bulbs for the same bulb type. why? because some cars use a bi-xenon configuration and some guys use a single in their headlamp to save a few bucks.

hope that answers your questions

i have a questions about H4HID xenon
Oct 3, 2007 3:09PM PDT

i just installed on my motorcycle and when i went to start it . the highbeam came on from hid light while my bikes lo-beam was on. Then i flipped the switch on my bike to high-beam and the hid just flickers and goes off ... i tried the new bigger fuse and unhooked the running turn signals even though i dont know if that has any impact on it . im wondering maybe my battery doesnt have enough crank power but the high beam hologen from the hid kit works just fine . does anyone think it could be some kind of failsafe the makes the highbeam work under the low beam because the xenon isnt working ? thanks for any help
