Question

Help with missing registry keys

Jan 7, 2012 8:40AM PST

I recently upgraded a windows machine which was running XP to Windows 7.
When I tried to install the software for an HP scanner, I received the error message: Missing registry keys. slbcsp.dll, sccbase.dll, gpkcsp.dll & Enum.
I have seen several posts with suggestions on how to fix all this manually. Does anyone know of a source for a package which will fix all these issues? I ask because I am not at all comfortable trying to do it manually myself.
Thanks.

First things first. Are these the latest drivers for the printer, direct from HP's website, and do they explicitly state that they are for use with Windows 7?

Registry keys

I was directed to download this software by Customer Support at HP. They walked me through how to use their MS Vista version via a Compatibility Workaround to load the package. When I did that, I got the prompts about the missing Registry Keys.
