Help with Incredimail outlook add-on on work pc

by libran5 / June 14, 2004 11:33 AM PDT

Hey all,

I decided to add incredimail outlook add-on on my work pc in microsoft outlook 2000 (operating system - windows professional 2000) and it just does not respond after installation. The hourglass maintains itself and sometimes a bar appears to tell me program not responding and will uninstall incredimail outlook add-on.

This is frustrating me because I told another worker about the add-on, who installed it after i had and it installed perfectly on their pc - i installed it same way as I had on my pc.
Why is her's working and mine isnt?
I've checked the message rules and there are none set.
I have even 'repaired' outlook in case the settings were wrong.
can someone please help?
I sent incredimail the feedback but don't think I will be hearing from them.

I know of no way to fixing Incrediamil's problems. In my opinion, a software to be avoided.

Best of luck,

Bob

I don't think its incredimail thats the problem, I think its the pc - the other worker was able to install without problems but on my pc its just not responding.
I have incredimail on my home pc which i've personally had no problems with and everybody at work uses hotbar emoticons and I know hotbar is full of viruses and I won't touch it. That's why i thought the add-on would be better to use.

If you cannot help, thats ok - but if there is someone who reads this post and can help, please drop me a line - anything is better than nothing.

Thanks Wink

Sadly, Incredimail is too unstable.
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / June 14, 2004 11:25 PM PDT

It works on some, but not other machines. Your plea for help is not unknown or hasn't been heard before, but to think it's the PC that's at issue is misplacing where the issue really is.

My observation is this: Give the machine that works time and soon it will develop an issue with Incredimail.

In closing, remember that any office I set up, installs an email STRIPPER to cut off all HTML EMAL down to plain text. I wonder how many hours people spend composing HTML email and our office never sees it.

I didn't know or even hear anybody tell me that incredimail was unstable - this is really the first encounter I have come across (with the add-on).

I've had a look at the settings and it is HTML enabled and we tend to use it a bit around the office. I haven't come across anything that prevents the use of HTML at our office so its not blocked and seems to be allowed.

The reason I suspected it to be the pc is because I have never encounted it before and thought is has something to do with the setup of the pc.
The best thing I can do is leave it alone - we do have technicians regularly come by so maybe I should ask their opinion.

Thanks for your help and knowledge - you learn something new everyday!!

I experienced exactly the same problem. Did you finally find a solution?

I've asked Incredimail support but ... no answer up to now.

Thankyou for this reference - I am currently looking through them and hope to learn the cons about the program, and possibly some pros if there are any.

Just shows you too that no software is 100% workable - there is always going to be a problem somewhere, somehow.

So is there any alternative to this? I've seen the cute smilies a friend of mine uses with her incredimail stuff, but I won't ditch my Outlook Express at its expense.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
