Forget spending all that extra cash on a h.d.m.i. switching amp, Yes run all your vidio straight to the t.v. then use your optical audio inputs for your audio you will have to change inputs on your t.v. and amp no big deal The main problem some a/v/ amps will not pass thru a h.d.m.i. source good luck steweee
I have a sitaution that I'm having trouble finding a solution for elsewhere. I am trying to set up a surround sound system for the following equipment:
TV: Samsung LN-T4661F
Components: Motorolla DVR (comcast cable box), Xbox 360, PS3, Wii
I believe this situation is usually addressed by connecting all the components to the reciever and then the reciever to the TV. However, recievers that would be able to handle all of these devices, have an HDMI output, and maintain a resolution of 1080p are quite expensive.
I am curious if I could connect all the devices directly to the TV and then have a single digital audio output from the TV to a less expensive reciever, which would then be connected to the speakers.
Is this a viable solution and what are my alternatives? Thank you
