Help with Fuji finepix A303

May 7, 2006 10:35AM PDT

I have a Fuji FinePix A303 that is having problems. When you put in fresh batteries it will take about 10 pictures before it needs new batteries. Also, when you change batteries, no matter how fast, it does not keep date and time settings. I have tried new batteries and I am not sure what to try next. has anyone experienced the same problem?

If you are using Alkaline AA batteries, you need to switch to NiMH rechargeable AA batteries.

You can get a "charger with batteries kit" at any store that sells digital cameras. They cost from $10 to $20 for a kit.

WalMart has a large selection of brands, near their camera deparment. Ask in the camera department.

NiMH AA batteries will last much longer on one charge than Alkaline AA batteries.

Am using NiMH rechargables and am getting this problem

I am currently using the NiMH rechargable AA batteries. I thought maybe the batteries themselves had gone bad and purchased a new pack. Even with the new batteries, my problem persists.

Did you buy a new charger?

They have been known to go bad.

If you know the charger is good and the batteries are good, that just leaves the camera.

It must have an electrical problem, that is draining the batteries.

Digital camera repairs usually run over $100.
You might consider buying a new camera.
