Help: with DCRHC40E :

I tried to copy video on cd & quality is not good.Frames drop a lot!
I tried to use imagemixer but it doesnt work.
Do I need to buy firewire ? If yes, do I need only sony firewire , 4to4 pin or 4to6 pin ?
Can someone help me out of this ?
