On the LCD that's added in the hardware of the camcorder. If you want it on your video you add that in your video editor.
As you are using the really nice no-computer recorder, you are limited to what features the camcorder and recorder offer.
So, is there a computer you use to edit?

Based on advice here, I bought the Sony Multi-Function DVD recorder to transfer Mini-DV tapes to DVD and it works absolutely wonderful! Love it and can't believe I've been paying so much to have it done professionally!
Now I can't get the date time stamp to show on the recording. It shows on the LCD of the Sony Handycam HDR-HC5 as it's being transferred but not on the VRD-MC6 recorder.
How does this work? Is it a function of the camcorder or the recorder?
Thanks!
