Help, with compressed files

hello, i am new to all this so please excuse any mistakes. anyway to the point i accidently opened a compressed file with "RNX file proccesor" and ticked the box so it always opens with it. Now i dont know what to open it with. can anyone help?

sry i dont know what ya mean. i am using windows me. i think its a zip file. but it happens to any file that is compressed

It's possible you need to set EXPLORER to show extensions. That is a basic Windows skill, so I leave that to you and the Help and Support that tells how.

If you do want to un-ZIP a file, then go try WINZIP which you can find on winzip.com or download.com

It's installer can fix the ASSOCIATIONS so you don't have to.

Right click on the file and see if there is the option "open with". If it does, select the program you want to use for opening that type of file.
