help with cellphone choice

Jan 19, 2015 11:18PM PST

The wife and I are upgrading from our Razr M's. I'm just overwhelmed with info, and i'm probably OCD in researching purchases.

I like the size of my Razr M, but I'm finding my choices are limited in smaller smartphones. I've found the HTC One Remix and I see that Verizon still has the Galaxy S4 which is on the smaller side. But my issue is the S4 is older, and the reviews for the Remix are all over the place! Some good, some really really bad.

The sales people are pushing the Droid Turbo, Galaxy S5 and the HTC M8, but they're all on the larger side.

My wife and I are not power users by any means. We surf, email, chat, facebook....that's it. No games, no large videos. I'm just lost, and the more I search, the more i'm seeing that the phones I'm liking (remix) have poor cameras and other issues. Anyone's opinions will help.

You are basically stuck size-wise

The relatively larger screen size du jour is unfortunately what the marketplace is mostly asking for now.

If you can adjust your expectations, I would opt for perhaps a discounted S5 or newer HTC. Both would be very good quality rigs. Look for certified like new offerings too on the Verizon site.
