help with buying 32-40" LCD tv

by majax79 / October 16, 2007 12:58 PM PDT

I'm looking to buy my first LCD tv for me and my roommate (I'm a nice roommate I know, lol). I have a 27 inch Sony CRT and I'm utterly annoyed with how the blacks looked smudged. Every horror movie I've watched lately, the color is just terrible.

I think a 32" would be big enough for us. I'm just completely unsure as to what to get. I don't want to pay over a grand for a tv though. If it's price is a little over that would be ok though because I'm sure I can get a deal on it.

I just don't know where to start. Please let me know if you have a lcd tv that size and you love it please let me know.

if you are concerned about blacks then you should get a plasma or else the blacks of a lcd will not probably be as black as you want them. if you want a inexpensive but good quality 32" lcd then i would recommend a vizio vx32l. i use mine with a 360 elite, hd-dvr, and oppo 970hd universal player. the fine tuning of this set allows for pretty good pic quility. you can find a new one for under 600 bucks at sams, costco, sears and CC. (dont go to walmart). i thought a 32" would be fine too, but i wish it was bigger. if you have the money, get something bigger than 32" you wont regret it.
