Question

Help with Avast Anti Virus 6

Sep 26, 2011 8:56AM PDT

I downloaded Avast Anti Virus 6 and now I can't surf the internet with Mozilla Fire Fox - Internet Explorer or MSN. com. without disabling Avast which defeats the whole purpose of having it. Can somebody tell he how I get things working without disabling it. Be clear in instructions please I am far from a computer person. Thank you in advance for any help.

Some of these protections do that when you select "MAXIMUM PROTECTION".

Sorry but if Avast won't answer how to change it or allow internet access, why use a product that does not work for you?

This product may not be for you. Try something else.

Been running Avast for a few years.

I clicked on the trial run of version 6 and it was running just fine until I entered my license code to allow me to use it until my regular subscription runs out in March. It all just happened tonight.

Aha.

Uninstall it and then don't install the code until Avast reveals what happened.

PS. Norton does something similar.

Any time Norton gets close to expiring or expires, it shuts off the Internet to keep the user safe.

I must bite my tongue now.
