Hi, I really hope someone can help me with this. I'm not an expert with computers, you might have to make your answers simple if that's possible.
So I got a virus. I opened an email attachment that appeared to be from my father. When I ran Norton it said I had 42 infected files including 1 it couldn't quarantine or repair. The virus is called the Mota virus.
It seems to have affected my hotmail. If I try to log in, once I have entered my email address and password it tells me 'the page cannot be found'. Also - if I try to log in with another account it tells me I am already logged in. It's as though I do actually sign in to my account, it just won't let me see it.
I have internet explorer but yesterday I took someone's advice and started using Mozilla Firefox. Yesterday I was able to use my email as normal. However today, even using Mozilla I can't get into hotmail.
Msn won't sign in either. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it after scanning and repairing all the files I could. When I try to sign in it tells me 'the password you have entered is incorrect or the sign in name you have entered does not exist'.
I am able to access my hotmail from work, but I really realy on this account in the evenings and at weekends for business reasons. This is slowly driving me crazy and i have no idea how to fix it.
If someone can tell me what I can do to fix it, I promise I will never ever open another dubious attachment again.
