help with a virus

by jameasson / August 19, 2007 1:38 PM PDT

When I move my mouse cursor over certain icons, my computer restarts the second the cursor is over them. Is there any way to fix this problem?

-thanks in advance

Why Do You Think It's A Virus?

More information is certainly necessary. Which operating system are you using? Have you scanned with an antivirus program and if so, which virus has it indicated? Have you ever taken the cover off the computer and used compressed air to blow out all the dust and junk from inside the computer? (Pay particular attention to the fans, heatsink, processor and power supply.) And WHICH icons cause the computer to restart?

If you haven't already done so and you're using Windows 2000 or XP, then please download, install, update, then run a full system scan using the free AVG Antispyware program from the link below:

Ewido/AVG Antispyware 7.5 Tool

Hope this helps and let us know more.
