Help with a new TV

Sep 23, 2008 9:19AM PDT

I'm looking for a new TV, mostly for video games. I was thinking of one of the new Vizio XVT's, since they look like decent quality and the price is pretty good.

Any one have an opinion about this?

This is the Vizio I was thinking of:

I believe C/NET has said it is pretty darned good.

Vizio has been very successful & an aggressive merchant. I also must say the company is still regraded a little less highly as traditional quality name brands such as Pioneer, Sony, Samsung.

money vs performance

If you aren't too concerned with getting stellar performance out of your TV, then a Vizio should be good for you so you can get a bigger screen size for a low price.

Personally, I'd look into Samsung and Panasonic too. They have models that are not that expensive and will be better quality than Vizio. Also factor in build quality. Sometimes the budget brands like Vizio won't make long lasting products.

Vizio XVT

I've seen commercials for the new XVT series and checked it out at Best Buy and Costco, and so far - it looks like a great tv. And I've only read good reviews about it, so it looks like a good choice. The quality looks great, so I'm sure the video games will look really good. GOod luck!
