Help!!! Wireless Security Attack

Mar 31, 2005 1:30PM PST

Hi all, I'm fairly new to networking. I just set up a wireless network. I have a d-link 624 wireless router that I use for my laptop(winXP Pro) and my desktop(WinMe).

Tonight I found a strange connection on my network so I logged into my routers settings and noticed that it detected a "syn flood attack". Well I reset my router and the connection stopped. Does anyone know of any security measures I can take to prevent this? Thanks

All those 'Anti' available and a firewall

Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Anti Adware, etc. such as: Adaware SE, Spybot SD, Spywareblaster, Norton anti virus, McAfee, and many free anti viruses also available.

Then you need a Firewall such as: ZoneAlarm, etc...

You might also want to configure your WiFi/Router to use WPA encryption and Mac Address filtering...

I have those Things

Gakada, that's the thing. I have all of the above mentioned. I'm running ZoneAlarm Pro, I have both sypbot and adaware(pro). As far as anti virus I'm running AVG(desktop) McAfee(laptop). And I've configured the router with WPA shared key encryption and mac address filtering. That's why I don't know what's going on. Sad

Thank you guy's for the comments. I'm going to double check my configurations.
