My guess would be he removed the video drivers and so Windows reverted to the "classic" look for the interface because the "normal" one for Vista and later uses DirectX, so needs video drivers installed.
He'll need to figure out if he has an Intel, AMD or nVidia video chip and then get the appropriate driver from their website. Then the next time he feels like doing a little mass deleting, tell him to google each item first to figure out what it is before he goes and deletes it.
So last night my brother went on his laptop and started un-installing items through the control pannel, it worked all fine until he turned it off. In the morning when he started it up the computer now looks like it is running windows xp :/ i dont know what he uninstalled but its not working and i dont know what to do. I have tried system restore but when i do that it says some sort of error. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this?
