Question

Help! Win 8 is sharing everything between home n work PCs

Nov 23, 2013 2:07PM PST

Hello!
My home PC was running Win8 and my Business Surface Win 8.1. All was fine until I upgraded my home PC to 8.1 Imagine my surprise when my Business Microsoft Surface all of a sudden showed the wallpaper from my home PC - a pic of my girlfriend in a teddy! Then I find that my Favorites from my home PC are available on my Business Surface, too! Other things also... DANG! I keep these puters separate for a reason!
What do I need to do for autonomy on both computers?
Thanks for any advice!

Are you using that new login system?

The one that uses the email does sync items.

It sounds like you don't like it.

Yeah... it kinda forces you to do so...

When I installed Win 8.1 on my surface I had to sign up for a MS account. Then when I upgraded my PC I used the same account.
Now how the heck can I make these computers autonomous?
Thanks!

It does not force it. It's just not intuitive.

There are a lot of articles about it. Google this.

"How to use Windows 8 Local Login."

Got it! I've too been researching it and I thonk you for the help.

Is it just me or is everything getting so intrusive? Even CNet wants your Google account or Yahoo info. etc... Youtube and Facebook and everything else all want to be linked up - with all the NSA junk going on it's as tho "they" all want to know everything about you and I don't feel as tho it's just for Advertising/Marketing, etc., as in the past!

Thanks for the help, Guys!
