It would help a little to cover all the bases by uploading some photos to show the details of setup/plugs/etc. Imageshack.us is a good site for this purpose.
A friend just purchased a house that has ceiling speakers built in as follows: Den (4-speakers), and 4 rooms with 1 built in speaker each. There is gray wiring that doesn't have any tip at the end (looks like 1 red / 1 white per speaker). My friend was told that it was wired to run a single audio source through the speaker and that she would need a receiver and amplifier.
Any suggestions and/or explanation on what is needed to hook up the speakers to audio equipment? What audio equipment would you recommend? Does the wiring need some sort of tip installed on the end to plug into audio equipment? Is there any value in geting a speaker selector in addition to a receiver & amplifier?
Any help would be greatly appreciated since my friend nor myself know anything about audio equipment & setup.
