Help w/ distorted flickering screen

by me7111 / March 25, 2009 9:12 AM PDT

My mom has a dell inspiron e1405, and it has worked alright until now. For some odd reason all of the sudden it decides 2 minutes in after starting it up, this happens:
<a href=""><img src="" alt="" /></a>

The black outline shows a window i had open and you might be able to see the repeating background, but after about 2 minutes thats exactly what happens in a few small variations and it flickers to a small extent.

I think it has to do with the video card, hopefully not, I would love for it to be a stupid switch on the side or something simple, basically because it can't be replaced.

Thank you for any ideas, I'm desperate.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
