help!!! virus!!!

by podman / September 21, 2004 9:03 AM PDT

could someone please please help?
i have a pc with windows xp that is dying from a virus:(
i haven't been able to id the culprit...

whenever the computer is turned on, it runs fine for a brief period of time, then everything freezes up. the time interval becomes progressively shorter so that eventually the computer will freeze while booting up. i still have the system rescue cds that came with the computer, so i tried using them to restore the operating system/software. unfortunately, this didn't fix the problem, and the computer continues to freeze up.
if anyone could please give me tips on what to do...i'm sort of stuck at this point...

This does not sound so much like a virus as it does a hardware issue and it could be heat related. Make sure all fans are running and free of dust. Try running with the side cover off to see if this extends the period between freezes.

...are you using? Did it identify a name for this virus and what file was listed as infected?

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
