Re: label

In reply to: HELP: USB Thumb Drive No Labels

- The same thumb drives do show their label in another PC? Just a check to see that the thumb drive is OK and it's an issue with your PC.
- Does the content show in the right pane of Explorer? Can you copy files to it?
- Can you set the label? And does it show then?

Third way. Fix it in Repair.

In reply to: alternative fix

http://www.eightforums.com/general-support/32224-all-partition-drive-labels-show-local-disk-explorer.html

Windows Manager pulls up SFC, where it says "Windows File Protection".
There may be a Repair for this in that app.
Actually, on page III of Repair, there is a repair for "Fix Problem that cannot rename Volume Partition Label" - Try that, I'll do it as well.
I have to reboot, bblater.
================================
OK it worked:
Just remember, open Repair Center, go to page III and click "Fix Problem that cannot rename Volume Partition Label":
Then Reboot, they should all come back.

If the above fail. Could be the AUTORUN.INF file.

In reply to: alternative fix

You find and remove/edit as needed.

Final. Why it's done that way.

In reply to: alternative fix

It's to protect against the autorun.inf exploit in microsoft windows.

http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/14304-custom-hdd-volume-label-not-displayed-my-computer.html

" I found, in the top of the page, my real problem, about the autorun.inf files.
I used Flash_Disinfector.exe and i have in all my drives the Autorun.inf folder created. That was the reason for my labels won't display in My Computer.
Next, I made a .reg file that disabled the execution for all autorun.inf's
Now I can edit my labels normally and everything's back to normal.
(if you are asking why i don't just deteled the autorun.inf folder from all my hard drives.... you know the answer... the Flash_Disinfector.exe makes a autorun.inf 'place holder' against viruses)
If your problem it's because of a autorun.inf file, just delete it, or use my method if you want to keep the autorun files.
I have attached the .reg files for disabing Autorun.inf in Windows 7 and some more notes how to create the files."

Try This.

In reply to: HELP: USB Thumb Drive No Labels

Just do one thing go to My computer>right click>manage>disk management

select the pen drive there separately and format...... check it again

if it doesnt works then again go to same location select your pen drive and opt for delete logical drive

then again right click to form a new partition or logical drive..... select form a new logical drive and again format it completely..

Note: dont opt for quick format,,, let it format completely.

hope this solves your problem,.....

Bitdefender 2017

In reply to: Try This.

I did check it with a Linux computer, and there's a folder called autorun.inf. inside the folder the bd*******1 and then inside the a bd********2. I did some snooping around, and it's because of the Bitdefender total security 2017 USB immunizer. I can't seem to open their forum; maybe my IP address is blocked (I'm from the Philippines, and we use a dynamic IP address system, and I didn't get myself banned)

thank you all for helping.

You found that folder/file.

In reply to: Bitdefender 2017

I'd rename it at the very least.
