Digital, The WGA Notifications Shouldn't Block Updates
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / June 28, 2006 2:23 PM PDT

It is a discretionary update and can be removed per the previous instructions.

How does your computer "block it" from installing?

On the other hand, if you don't install the WGA "Tool", that's a different matter...the tool is required to verify you've got a legal version of XP and unless it's installed, Windows Updates won't work as well as other Microsoft downloads.. Still, if you don't install the "Tool", you can use the "Automatic Updates" which is on your computer.

Hope this helps.

If it still cannot be installed, please let me know if you encounter any error code or message. If so, please help capture it using the steps below (Screenshot):

In the meantime, please proceed with the following steps to reset some system files and registry key permissions. If the permissions are incorrect, this issue may also occur.
Step 3: Reset permissions
This step may take us some time, thus your patience is highly appreciated.
