Hi. Using Win Me I would like to download a program (51 languages)..but when trying to install..I am told I need 1024X768 screen resolutions. Question? How do I change my computer to accept this software? Thank you for any suggestions.

I think Dell can help you change your computer.

Then it should work fine.

If the monitor and the videocard do support this resolution it's just a setting in the display properties. Right click on an empty part of the desktop, choose properties, locate the resolution slider and drag it a little bit to the right.

If your videocard supports this resolution, but your monitor doesn't either the possibility isn't offered by the slider or you get a horrible display. Don't accept the new setting then, and keep the old setting. Then go and buy a new monitor.

If your video doesn't support this resolution, buy a new videocard and install it. You might have to disable any onboard video in the BIOS.

It may be part of its copy protection and if you read the forum policies, no one will help you break the protection scheme.

Just so you know.

Great that you changed the resolution. I noted replacing the machine since the OS you noted is very old and you should have acquired the skill to change resolutions in the 5 years since it came out. But that's an assumption on my part. Next time, tell a bit more "story."
