No sure fix. Try setting all sources to PCM stereo as well as the TV. From reports, it's not the optical cable but do check that the caps are removed from the ends of the optical cable and give the optical port a blow of air to remove dust.
I just set up an older Samsung soundbar (HT-WS1 G) connected to my TV via an optical audio cable. I have a Genie Mini (wireless) for my cable box connected to my TV (Samsung plasma) via HDMI high speed. Whenever I change the channel or open my DVR list, the volume cuts out completely. The only way to get it back is to rotate through my inputs or turn everything off and on completely. I had this soundbar connected to a different TV with a regular directv box for years with no issues. Any ideas? I've tried messing with every audio setting on the TV and Genie Mini. Next trys will be replacing the optical audio cable. Or should I try a regular digital audio cable connected directly to the Genie Mini? But if I do that, will I get volume through other inputs (such as Roku)? The only audio ports on the soundbar are optical audio and digital audio. Messing with the cables is all I can think of unless anyone has a fix to the Genie mini itself. Thanks.
