But there is NO SPEED in wifi so all this investment will feel like you were ripped off. The common powerline speed is only 84 megabit which is slower than common ethernet but still good enough for playing HD Video. I know this since I'm using simple shared 54 meagerbit 802.11g to link down to the media room and it's all good.
Makes me wonder why you think you need to go gigabit networking.

My issue , should i buy Drobo Pro (SAN) or Synology DS409+ (NAS). For both i?m thinking to buy several HDD Western Digital WD20EADS 2TB( reason speed , but may be i?m wrong !). My first objective is MAX SPEED ,read , write , 1080p movies to be seen on TV, transfer large files in my network and have a MAX SPEED wireless on plus 4 additional family Pc?s . An easy machine to set up , stable and trustworthy. Price is not an issue and the total Tbytes also not a problem (obvious in future I will want more and more ) . I have an WD NAS Server WD ShareSpace 4TB( sluggish ???..). My PC is a VAIO intel core duo T9400@2,53Ghz , RAM 4 GB, Vista 32 bits, usb 2.0 , HDMI, Firewire 400. The wireless network i have is with a DSL speedtouch THOMSON ST5x6v6 (from cable operator), then I connect the SMC WEB-N access point 10/100 (to be changed by D link Dir 825 10/100/1000 if you have better reco please tell me ). DSL is connected to SMC and also the PC VAIO then a DEnon AV 3808 and also a Dlink Swith 10/100/1000 (8 port gigabit TL-SG 1008d) and the DSL. To the Switch I have connected WD ShareSpace , a SONY TV 40z4500 (European Model close to USA Sony KDL-40XBR9)and Power Line from Devolo will come to increase the quality of the wireless coverage.
