Hello,
I have reviewed the user manuals for your components.
You will want to make the following connections.
You have the TV and the DVD/VCR combo receiver.
From your receiver to the TV
Simply connect the "Component OUT" to "Component 1 IN". This will take care of the video signal for the VCR and DVD, giving you the best possible picture.
Your Audio for the VCR and DVD are taken care of through the receiver itself by simply connecting all the speakers.
For your DirecTV receiver I would suggest hooking up the the video directly to the TV.
Simply connect the "Component OUT" to "Component 2 IN". This will take care of the video signal for the DirecTV High Definition signal, giving you the best possible picture.
You will then want to get a $20-$30 Optical cable to connect the audio "Optical Out" on the DirecTV receiver. This will allow you to listen to 5.1 surround sound broadcast from DirecTV.
If you are interested in recording anything off DirecTV you will want to connect the following:
Yellow "Video OUT" from the DirecTV receiver to the "Video In Line 1" on your receiver. Make the exact same connections with the (Red)Right audio and (White) Left audio connections. This will allow you to record video (lowest quality signal) and stereo surround sound (not 5.1) from any broadcasts.
Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.
Take care,
Shawn Mosqueda
