Nevermind, problem solved. I had the CEC and ARC set to off and apparently they needed to be on.
I'm very confused. I previously had my DirecTv setup through my Yamaha RX-675 receiver using HDMI for the audio and video source with no problems. Then I moved the TV and receiver downstairs. I plugged everything in just the way I had it and there's no signal coming from the receiver to the TV.
If I bypass the receiver, and go straight from the DirecTv box to the TV, I get a picture and sound (assuming I turn the TV speakers on in the TV audio settings, where they are usually off.) If I don't use HDMI and use the RCA jacks, I can get it to work. But that's not what I want because the quality isn't good.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? It seems like there is a setting on the Yamaha that is incorrect so it isn't pushing the signal out the HDMI cable to the TV.
Here is how I have it hooked up currently:
DirecTv box: HDMI cable goes into HDMI 2 on Yahama HDMI inputs.
Yahama: HDMI out goes to the TV into HDMI 1 on Vizio TV.
Vizio M470NV HDTV setting: HDMI-1
Yamaha setting; HDMI-2
Any ideas? I've spent a whole day trying a million different things but with no luck.
