This setup involves dozens of steps and while you shared a few I can't tell if you accomplished one of the steps. Tell the forum how you created ACCOUNTS to allow the sharing.
Let's say your account name is FREE. Does FREE have an account on both machines? And did you create the share after those accounts were created?

Hi,
Its been 3 days that i'm trying to set a local network in my home.
I have 1 laptop running on Vista , and one desktop running XP family edition sp3.
I tryed all the step by step guide but nothing worked.
I activated files sharing on bot compute, created a Invite profile and added a password on both computer. Desable firewall..tryed everything
I able to access the shared folder of my Vista Laptop from my desktop XP, but i'm not able to acces my files of my pc from my laptop..
When i go to Network i see my desktop computer, but i always get an error 0x80070005 Access Refused.
My laptop is connected wireless and my desktop is connected direcly in my 2wire router.
Please help im completly fed up!!!
