Question

Help restoring my hp

Aug 24, 2017 8:17AM PDT

Ok, I have an hp all in one. We use it at my shop without internet. I brought it home to update it because I couldn't use my hotspot anymore to get online. I figured if I brought it home and hooked directly to the land internet that I could do the update. It wouldn't even connect like that. i remember awhile back that it was telling me that I wasn't allowed to do something... can't remember.. but something to do with admin. So I get online on my phone and start some research... long store short... I did something and it changed over to where I can't do diddly squat!! Please help!!!

You can try System Restore to when it was fine.

But unlike Windows 10 there is no reset this PC feature that leaves your files alone. Just last week we had a work machine return from the field and the W10 upgrade worked and was free. We moved all the office to W10 because of the reset features. It's saved us a lot of work.

Given only what you wrote I fear you are going to have to reload the HP per HP's instructions to start over if System Restore fails.

1. System restore
2. Your backups
3. Factory restore
