Help required - Canon A530

Apr 30, 2006 3:22PM PDT

I am trying to take black & white shots with this. I have gone to the colour accent function, which will change every colour except green to b&w. I cannot get this green accent to change to any other colour. It is getting very frustrating!

Also, how do I use the software that came with this to convert photos taken on another camera to b&w? I used to have a very cheap Kodak model & all of this was so easy with that.

I would take the easy path and download a free program called Irfanview.

http://www.irfanview.com

Also download the plug-ins.

When you run Irfanview -
Load a photo
Click on "Image"
Click on "Convert to Greyscale"

It is done.

Answer to Canon A530 BW Mode Question
May 2, 2006 9:07PM PDT

In the cameras menu to access the BW mode you must select "my colors" first then select "Sepia" then with "Sepia" selected hit the "Menu" button and you will be able to then select "BW". I hope this helps you obtain the desired result.

The ArcSoft for Canon software will allow you to edit any cameras photos an with it you can change an image to "greyscale" thus making it "black & white".
