Question

Help! Random BSOD shut downs

Mar 22, 2017 1:49PM PDT

Hey,

I've been having for a few days now random BSOD mostly showing Memory Management error (but not only, sometimes I get BSOD with different errors..).

These occur randomaly while I surf, use Media Player and even sometimes just when I startup my windows. Oddly enough, it hasn't happened when I played resource consuming games.

I've updated windows, ran complete anti-virus\malware scan, run chkdsk, tried to scan for faulty logs, ran an extended windows memory diagnostic test.... all came up with nothing - and the problem persists.

I ran a sfc check and it said it found a couple of errors, but it couldn't fix them. this is the end of the log:

That CPU is now unsupported by W7.

But isn't Skylake still supported?
Mar 23, 2017 1:04AM PDT

The article mentions a list but the link wasn't very... informative (showing different Laptop companies and not Intel CPUs - maybe I just didn't know how to figure it out).

Can a PC run fine for a year and then all the sudden have issues between the OS and the CPU?

As to your questions.

To the Skylake support, no it isn't on this OS.
To the sudden, there are now many more reports of issues happening with updates and then bang, what worked before failing.

I'm sure you want me to provide more proof so just google Windows Skylake and Windows 7 support.

That google finds all about why it isn't supported as well as some Dells that were excluded and the one year extension from March 2016. It's now March 2017 so boom comes down the house.

Will a dump file help?
